I used drugs (proton pump inhibitors) a long time, but I think my stomach is acidic today, even stopping to take a long time. And yet the SIBO test came back positive. I’m determined to find the root cause this time thought as I’m positive that stress alone isn’t the issue. I also have adult acne which gets worse and itchy skin after eating certain foods but I haven’t been able to identify which ones exactly.
Allergy skin tests, RAST, and ELISA tests may be used to diagnose a food allergy. Though dietary avoidance may be sufficient treatment for mild allergies, the use of an Epipen may be necessary for severe food allergies. Is there another way to test for SIBO w/C? I also have silent reflux as a result of the SIBO.
S. Hey Steve and Jordan…I happened upon your website after googling why I’m gassy after eating wheat, assuming this had a lot to do with causing my gas along with possibly other foods…what I’ve read so far on your website is very interesting and informative and makes a lot of sense…I recently began eating a Vegan diet and am pleased so far with the results…I’m on day 14 of a 21 day challenge after watching the Netflix Forks over Knives documentary and reading the book 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart by Neal D. Barnard, MD, both of which are excellent!!! …I wonder if you’re aware of these and what your thoughts are about eating Vegan! Thanks for any help…I have felt a whole lot better eating this way and only seem to have issues when eating certain wheat/sugary items.
That I had a respiratory infrection, and gastritis from the vomiting. They gave me fluids, nausea medicine, And a drug called pantoprazole, in an iv, and script for the pills to take every day at home to reduce stomach acid. Now every time I eat anything, even four chicken nuggets, my stomach immediately, visibly swells, and is very tight for hours. Please tell me if this is because of this medicine is causing low stomach acid! This is really uncomfortable and I can’t eat.

The SIBO will continue to come back if you do not address the underlying causes (low stomach acid, poor pancreatic function, slow motility, etc) after treating. I was diagnosed with SIBO (test with lactulose), with gastritis and chronic duodenitis. I am in this picture almost two years. Can you imagine what can be the cause of gastritis?
I’m confused. Something has to be causing my severe bloating after eating sugar.
Could it be pancreas?? Gallbladder has been removed years ago. I tried drinking lemon juice and water and it helped with heartburn. If my symptoms sound like something else to you please comment to me. I am suffering.
