A day since then I have been taking Prilosec 2x . I have kidney disease-creatin levels of 1 now.8- and wonder if that is related as well . I’ve recently changed to Pepcid 2x a day and hope that is a safer alternative.

Proton pump inhibitors such as rabeprazole stop cells in the lining of the stomach from producing too much acid. Did not get same results. Went back to Aciphex despite the higher cost..
Diagnosed with GERD, erosive Esophagitis and Barrett’s Esophagus 8 yrs ago by Upper GI Endoscopy with biopsy. Aciphex prescribed, 8 weeks later erosive Esophagitis fully resolved. A year later Follow up Endosopy and biopsy, Barrett’s Esophagus fully resolved. Another Upper GI Endoscopy 2 years confirmed ago. Because Aciphex is high tier drug, my insurance copay started to go up 4 years ago so tried other lower tier, lower cost PPIs.
