Acid reflux and GERD: The same thing?

Acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are closely related, but the terms don’t necessarily mean the same thing. Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the most frequent acid-related disease as of today and occurs at all ages from childhood to advanced age [1 , 2 , 3 ].
